Week Two, Day One:

Returning for my second week at The Chronicle was of course a pleasure with such a wonderful and fun team to work with.

With a busy day ahead, me and fellow intern, Sophie, ventured out early into the town to do our daily vox pop. After a quick write up back at the office, we were on our way once again for more carnival coverage.

We visited two absolutely beautiful homes who had entered into the Chronicle Gardens Competition. Looking around I almost convinced myself to take up gardening, however taking my gardening skills into consideration, I soon came to the conclusion I should probably leave it to the experts.

Our final stops for the morning was to a model railway display and a local orchid show. Both were quite interesting and after a few photos and a couple of quick chats later it was back to the office.

Following the afternoon meeting, Sophie and I took a stroll down the street and indulged in a very scrumptious sausage sizzle.

One o’clock finally rolled around and it was time for a interview with a local councillor in regards to future plans for library facilities in the Toowoomba region. It was very informative and it was good to have another contact in town.

After spending more than half the day out of the office, I could prolong it no longer. Eventually it was time to hit the desk and write up my stories. A couple of hours later everything was done and it was time to go home.

Can’t believe there are only four days to go…
