John, Desley and I have had some discussions over style and syntax over the last few months. So, I’ve been consulting Canadian publications…I’m not crazy! We do use periods in abbreviations (such as Rev.). We also dearly love our commas, frequently using them before and (as a link of ideas in a sentence)–cross checked in the Edmonton Journal, Whitehorse Star and CBC just to be sure. Not to sure about the Mr. because news articles seem to state the person’s full name without title and then refer to them by last name only thereafter.

On the bright side, I learnt that a disreputable outfitter who would by a string of hourses in spring, use them through the hunting season, then turn them loose to slowly die of starvation during the harsh Yukon winters has been charged and courts have upheld the court ruling against him. His license remains suspended. Yeah!
