I have a beef to pick with today’s headlines and am wondering if anyone else was slightly offended by it. There was a tragic accident in Cherbourg yesterday where a 24-year old woman and a 6-year old boy were killed. That unfortunately is a sad reality and there have been a few such cases over recent times.

What bothered me though was that the headline said “in the stunned Aboriginal community of”. Now I don’t know about you, but I wonder why we have to continually state aboriginal and other ethnic minority groups but we never say “in the white community of”. It might go along way towards stopping prejudice if we stopped stating it in our headlines and just let it read like any other tragic story.
