Amazing. That is all I can say when I think about my first two days at the Jimboomba Times. The days went so quickly, I was so busy.

Day One: I found out they only have one full time journo, one part-time and the editor working at the paper. The editor also runs the Beaudesert Times so he wan’t there today. I spent the day tagging along with their full time journo. It was so interesting, we went to a council meeting, spoke to council members and received stacks of media releases. I was given a few assignments for the day-but not too much so I wasn’t overwhelmed. It was so exciting, I made a few mistakes, I was very upset with myself for making them, but today was the best day of my life.

Day Two: I finally met everyone! Yay! I went out to a “house fire” which turned out to be nothing first thing in the morning and then we had a meeting. The editor gave me all of my work for the week, I was shocked they let me do so much! I organised my days, and figured out where I was going and what I had to do. It wasn’t even the stories that made me so excited. It was the work, it was the fact that I was surrounded by everything I had been dreaming about for the past 6 years. I was in the most amazing place in the whole world, I was doing the most amazing thing in the whole world.
